Cliff Hendler is recognized as one of North America’s foremost mediators. Over the past 35 years, he has been entrusted to mediate thousands of disputes, earning a reputation for his ability to create progress in the resolution of even the most entrenched and high-stakes conflicts.

He is routinely retained in complex commercial matters involving professional negligence and malpractice, product liability, class actions, mass torts, commercial fraud, and community-based disputes. His track record includes the successful resolution of numerous high-profile, reputation-sensitive cases kept out of the public eye.

From 1990 through 2010, Cliff served as the founder and president of DRS Dispute Resolution Services LP, establishing one of Canada’s first full-service ADR firms. In 1996, he co-founded the International Academy of Mediators, which today includes over 200 of the world’s most experienced commercial mediators, dedicated to advancing best practices and mentoring the next generation. He has been a frequent guest lecturer across North America and Europe, co-managed the development of the American Bar Association’s National Institute Mediation Advocacy Program. In 2006, he contributed to the development of the ICC International Mediation Competition, now the world’s largest law student mediation event.
